Change Map

Provides insights into existing dynamics and emotions before and during the transformation and is therefore suitable for the analysis of transformation processes.

As a micro-method, the change map is a creative tool to show individual viewpoints of employees in the wider corporate environment. With the selection of experienced representatives of the workforce, a picture of organizational dynamics before, during and after a transformation can also be revealed and analyzed.

Using defined images such as meadows, forests, swamps, paths, roads, highways, national borders, power lines, mountains, cities, metropolises, farms and many other motifs, the change map enables the expression of perceived own views of employees, as well as insights into the relationships of oneself and, if applicable, one’s position and department to the rest of the organization.

As a tool for the analysis of transformation processes (new team compositions as well as overall organizational company transformations), an initial image view based on the change map enables insights into existing dynamics and emotions prior to the transformation. Expressed in figurative language, it thus offers an honest and often unfiltered way of communicating. Similarly, change maps can be applied during and after change to assess change and evaluate results.
