The aim of the method ARIZ (Russian acronym for “Algorithm for solving inventive tasks”) is to solve a complex technical problem analytically by a systematic approach. ARIZ is one of the main components of the TRIZ macro method.

The procedure of the method can be divided into different phases.

First, a simple problem model must be developed from a complex, tightly specified problem and an ideal solution defined.

The original problem is concretized and split into subproblems. Physical contradictions can arise here. After the conditions for overcoming the contradictions are defined, an attempt is made to resolve the contradictions by changing various parameters. This procedure is carried out iteratively until a suitable principle for solving the (technical) problem has been found.

The advantage of this method is that splitting into small subproblems allows solving even very complex problems.
