Elementary Transformations

Elementary transformations are used in the idea generation phase to resolve physical contradictions. The principle of elementary reshaping comes from the TRIZ method. It can be used to specifically find new ideas that solve the contradiction. Example: A car should drive as fast as possible, but at the same time consume as little gasoline as possible. The parameters used for the transformations are “drive fast” and “low consumption”.

The following principles are used in a forming process:

Separation in space:
The different parameters are implemented spatially separated.

Separation in time:
The different parameters are realized with a time delay.

Separation in the relationship:
The characteristics are realized under different conditions.

Separation by system transition.
1. an object is composed of several objects. The whole object has a property that the subobjects do not have or
2. an object is part of a larger whole and has a certain property that the whole does not have.
