With Future Fruit you design possible future scenarios for your business to be prepared for any eventuality.

One thing is certain: we are all moving inexorably toward the future at a rate of 60 minutes per hour. But we do not know exactly what this future will look like. In doing so, it is worthwhile to

Let your imagination run wild to come up with a whole range of future scenarios. You will be able to reap the fruits of this labor in the future – Future Fruits, that is! Sometimes looking at the past will help you open up the future to some degree.

What can happen if one is not concerned with the future, or only one-sidedly, is shown by the example of the oil catastrophe triggered by the Exxon Valdez accident. In March 1989, the tanker crashed off the coast of Alaska. But there was only one disaster scenario for such a case – and unfortunately it didn’t work. For two days, the government and the company were paralyzed. Staff, communications, engineering, and chemicals were not appropriately coordinated or prepared in any way, making Alaska’s largest oil spill a sad reality.

In 1889, Henry Heinz went bankrupt because he had gambled on a single future scenario by buying up a huge crop of cucumbers. But a few years later he was back in business: this time with “57 Varieties” and as many strategies as products for good times and bad.

You may have a rough idea of what the medium-term future holds for your industry – but at the same time, you’re surprised by small-scale changes happening in the short term and right under your nose. Only when you have played through as many scenarios as possible will you be flexible enough to react creatively and decisively.

The more scenarios you come up with, the more options you create. The more options you have, the more chances you have of coming across an undiscovered business idea or having the bailout ready.

The highlight: By actively designing future scenarios, you get a sharper focus on the now. There’s a good chance you’ll discover something you can use to improve your current offering and stay that legendary nose ahead of your competitors.
