The Osborn Checklist is an old but still very powerful method named after its inventor, Alex Osborn. It serves as a kind of guide for a systematic, almost forced generation of ideas.

With this technique, the focus is mainly on product and process innovations, and it always gives you the good feeling of not having forgotten any essential aspect in the idea generation process. The checklist was first published around 1957 and has lost none of its validity to this day.

The checklist has proven particularly useful in the further development of existing solutions, products or processes. It is also very useful as a follow-up technique to a brainstorming or mindmapping session.
