The aim of the Communities of Practice (CoPs) method is to bring together targeted employees who need to solve similar tasks or are working on a common project.
Within the meetings, useful experience knowledge can then be exchanged among each other. For this purpose, a group of people is defined who, detached from the primary company organization, meet regularly (or maintain contact via a corresponding IT) and exchange experiences on a topic.
The advantage of this method compared to classic knowledge databases is that experiential knowledge is actively passed on by the knowledge carriers themselves and, if necessary, detailed questions and follow-up questions can be clarified here immediately. In this context, CoPs are also well suited for introducing new employees, training them and passing on experience.
