The ALM method is derived from the abbreviation of “Other People’s Opinion”. It can be applied in the narrow sense, but also in the broader sense. In a narrower sense, this means taking on the role of people or groups of people who are very close to the topic and have a very high affinity with the challenge or the original topic.
These individuals often have a high level of involvement with the topic. By focusing the viewpoint on this group of people, it is often possible to see the very small subject world with different eyes, simply by slipping into the role of another person.
When applying the method in a broader sense, the distance of the group of people becomes correspondingly wider and thus the perspective broader. So you can say that the altitude of the observation changes, for example, if you assess the topic from a political point of view or from a macroeconomic point of view. Thus, in contrast to the AMA method, it involves an assessment of the subject area by specific individuals with specific positions.
