While there are many commonalities and sensible practices in digital transformation, the path to get there is unique to each team, product, and company. The target image that emerges after the transformation project will also be tailored to the specifics of each team. One method has worked better than the other, a particular template has taken hold for regular check-ins, the choice has fallen on a very specific tool that the team uses to gather technical implementation requirements and task planning status, etc.
“Our own way of digital” is a meta-method that the project team uses to document progress in its own transformation and to collectively record adopted best practices for all stakeholders. This has an identity-building effect for the team and at the same time supports the exercise with the methods. There are different approaches for the presentation, which generate either a method catalog, a poster, for example on the wall in the project room, or a digital board. What they all have in common is that ideas and methods are collaboratively contributed and captured by the whole team. The document is a living document, intended as a basis for joint practice, and is constantly being expanded and refined with new experiences from digital work. For example, a method may initially be adopted “from the textbook” into the document; however, after it has been run through a few times in the specific team, it becomes apparent that an adapted version or combination with another method is particularly profitable for the common context. This is then added to the document.
