Do you have a big change coming up or already ongoing? How do you manage to perceive the mood of the workforce and react when necessary? The Sounding Board is an intervention format for every executive and/or change manager to continuously assess their position and actively reflect during (digital) change projects.
The term is derived from music and comes from the resonance of a sound, such as that of a musical instrument. The soundboard of a piano, for example, has the task of absorbing and amplifying the vibration of struck sides. Transferred to ongoing change projects and measures, the Sounding Board has the task of recording moods and opinions in the organization that have been triggered and to show them to the project and/or organizational managers as a response from the affected stakeholders.
As an “ear to the ground”, the Sounding Board is particularly suitable as a feedback barometer to gather emerging opinions and moods across hierarchy levels early on during the change process and from the cross-section of the workforce of affected employees. This creates an open atmosphere, which in particular offers space for experienced or observed emotions.
