In the Stop Technique, didactic execution takes a reverse approach from most other idea generation techniques. While often the procedure is to first generate a large number of ideas before clustering the ideas found, the path is exactly the opposite with the stop technique.
First of all, the main topics are selected, for which the starting signal is then given for the corresponding idea generation in relation to the problem/challenge. This approach is primarily intended to counteract at an early stage if there is a risk of reaching a dead end in the brainstorming process or to prevent boredom due to a topic that has already been dealt with for too long.
It is important that the moderator acts more as a timekeeper and does not give too much guidance or help in terms of content. Only in the case of the lack of inspiration, he can support with superordinate themes as guidelines.
