The “blind spot” method unearths previously unknown knowledge that can significantly improve the performance of the innovation process. In this process, first the known knowledge up to the unknown, yet to be found know-how is collected and visualized in sequence.

The blind spot works best with teams that come from different disciplines and work areas, but already know each other well. The method was inspired by the model “Johari window” (authors: Joseph Luft/Harry Ingham), which is well known in communication sciences. The adaptation of the model was made by Sunni Brown.
